The Reason

He was a hidden treasure that loved to be known.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind if you somehow discover that you have special powers like the super heroes have? Go and fight with the bad guys? I doubt about that. Be famous, dude. Everybody wants to be known, special and loved, especially with some special powers others don’t have. But what if there is nobody around to impress. What if you have everything but are all alone. It would take all the fun out of your pocket.

This is reason enough to believe why God created the universe and all the living and non-living things in it. If He were alone, there wouldn’t be anyone there to praise and worship Him. Nobody would plead Him for forgiveness to which He could show His mercy. We as His creation should worship Him and thank Him for all that He has given to us without our asking. I think being The Omnipotent, He deserves at least that much from us, if not more.

He has created the universe and the human race in it. He has taught us how to live in it through His religion, just like software has an instructions manual on how to use it to get the benefit out of it. It is our job to find out the most up-to-date one, since new manuals are shipped with every version that is released. Moreover, there is a moral instinct within us that helps us in determining the right path.

Being the creator, only God should know about the right path. So, He should be the one to introduce us to the right path. That is what happens in the opening Surah of the Qur’an, which is a prayer in which man seeks guidance from Allah to go to the righteous path. The path of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad (May peace be upon all of them). May Allah guide us all to the path of righteousness. Amin.

I disagree.
If he was alone, I don't what would he think, because thinking that is beyond my capacity. But, what I know is, he didn't create us for HIS satisfaction. {Allah is Self-sufficient, everybody needs him and he doesn't need anybody - Surah Ikhlas:2}

Why did he create us, then? This is still an open question for me. I have read some scholarly answers but they couldn't satisfy me and I have left this question unanswered.

He doesn't need our prayers and worship. Infact, He doesn't need anything from anyone at all. I am not talking here about the Reason d'etre here, rather just about one of the hundreds of positive outcomes of this master project. The actual intention behind this can't be known to us at all. Why? Because He Himself didn't tell us.
